Technology journalists’ views of tech in the energy sector
At Populus, we regularly conduct research into the views of journalists (as well as other senior stakeholder audiences) We recently conducted research into the views of tech journalists, and we covered their views of the use of tech in the energy sector.
Tech journalists are impressed by firms like Bulb who are using technology to improve its customer service, particularly through the use of its app. Indeed, tech journalists praise companies that use technology to provide better customer service and to offer customers smart home products that make their lives easier. Looking ahead, these journalists predict smart home products will become increasingly important – enabling automatic switching or greater control over tariffs. Many also believe that tech will help the sector to decarbonise and decentralise, and journalists are interested in how firms are facilitating this and adapting to the change in the sector.
