Blue Rubicon – Sing Up

Issue

PR agency, Blue Rubicon, worked with Sing Up, the National Singing Programme, on a campaign to encourage children to recall historical events by singing about them. The challenge was to create a media profile for the launch of the campaign.

Solution

Populus conducted an Online Omnibus survey to generate a sample of 1,762 English adults to find out how much they knew about English history. Nearly half (47%) of 18–24 year olds don’t know the Roman’s built Hadrian’s Wall. A similar number (45%) don’t know Nelson led us to victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Outcome

The findings helped Blue Rubicon create a media story which resulted in significant coverage including BBC News, Daily Mirror, The Times, Daily Express, significant regional coverage and featured on various other media outlets.
