Syndicated stakeholder engagement studies

The views of elite stakeholders including MPs, journalists, advocacy groups and public sector policy makers matter to businesses but accessing the views of these key stakeholders on a regular basis can be difficult and expensive.

Populus has developed a cost-effective and industry specific approach for tracking corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement. We interview 100 key stakeholders who matter to a particular industry or sector – approximately 25 in each of the following audiences:

  • Politicians (MPs and Lords from relevant select committees and all party groups)
  • Journalists who focus on the industry
  • Advocacy groups which influence public and political opinion
  • Public sector policy makers and regulators who affect a company’s ability to operate effectively

Our approach is targeted, cost-effective and flexible

  • Because each study is industry specific, we target only elite stakeholders who impact directly on the sector. We encourage subscribers to review our lists of key stakeholders and suggest refinements to make the study even more relevant to their organisation. 
  • Because the studies are syndicated, costs are shared across multiple subscribers. Typically, our approach to elite stakeholder research is three to five times less expensive than similar bespoke programmes. Because we ring-fence a section of the questionnaire for subscribers to ask exclusive bespoke questions, our approach provides a flexible platform for benchmarking their performance against key competitors (on a shared basis) and investigating specific issues that are important to their organisations (on a bespoke basis).
