We have an exciting role for a Senior Research Executive to join our fast growing team. Populus has two core business areas; Reputation & Strategy and Business & Consumer Insight. This role sits within the Business & Consumer Insight team. We are looking for a bright and ambitious individual who is genuinely committed to pursuing a career in market research.
Working on quantitative research you will be exposed to online, telephone and face-to-face research methodologies and be given a lot of responsibility from day one. Due to the nature of consumer research you will have the opportunity to work across multiple sectors including retail, technology, media, utilities and transport. You will also be exposed to a wide variety of innovative research tools including online dashboards, video vox pops, ‘in the moment’ apps, online communities and a variety of neuroscience research techniques.
Senior Research Executives contribute to a wide variety of research projects and conduct and manage research projects. They play a key part in the research process. The following description sets out the minimum requirements of the role. As is the case with all roles at Populus, Senior Research Executives will be expected to contribute in whatever way they can to the success of the company and may be asked to undertake tasks that are not included below.
In addition to the tasks expected of a Research Executive, Senior Research Executives may be expected to:
attend pitch meetings and research debriefs;
keep project management tasks (such as fieldwork, invoicing etc.) up-to-date and completed (including entering details into the Bob & Bud/CRM system).
Required skills and abilities

It is essential that Senior Research Executives have:
the MRS Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice (or equivalent qualification/experience);
two years of practical research experience in a commercial environment;
experience of writing research questionnaires and reports;
a degree level qualification (or equivalent);
outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
excellent attention to detail and time management;
the ability to convey and present insights in an engaging and compelling way;
an interest in research and its application to business challenges;
the ability to use their initiative and a strong desire to learn new skills;
a wide sphere of knowledge and interest in marketing, brands and consumer trends;
confidence in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
